Preseason training is in full swing at Laurel Highlands High School as the Mustangs football team prepares for its 2026 WPIAL Class 4A Big Six Conference campaign, with the season opener set for Friday, September 4 at Derry at 7:00 PM.
MUSTANG FIELD — Preseason training is in full swing at Laurel Highlands High School as the Mustangs football team prepares for its 2026 campaign in the competitive WPIAL Class 4A Big Six Conference. Following intensive double-session practices and upcoming August scrimmages, Laurel Highlands will travel to face the Derry Trojans on Friday, September 4, with kickoff set for 7:00 PM at Derry.
"The Big Six is a physical conference where physical execution and line depth win games," said Head Coach Rich Elias. "Our upperclassmen have set a high bar in the weight room this summer, and we're excited to evaluate our squad during upcoming scrimmage play."
The Mustangs enter the 2026 season with high expectations following an offseason focused on strength and conditioning. Fans are encouraged to follow the team's schedule and attend upcoming scrimmages before the regular season kicks off.
