UNIONTOWN โ Downtown Uniontown turned into a lively cultural celebration over the weekend as community members gathered on Main Street for the annual Italian Heritage Festival. The event featured authentic Italian food vendors, live musical performances, accordion showcases, and heritage displays celebrating the region's historic immigrant roots.
"This festival brings our entire community together to celebrate family, history, and civic pride," said festival co-organizer Maria Santore. "Seeing Main Street bustling with visitors and local vendors highlights the vitality of downtown Uniontown."
Organizers extended special recognition to local business sponsors, municipal public works staff, and community volunteers who coordinated traffic control, street setup, and staging for the multi-day festival.
The Italian Heritage Festival has been a cornerstone of Uniontown's community calendar for many years, drawing visitors from across Fayette County and neighboring communities to celebrate the cultural contributions of Italian immigrant families who helped build the region's coal and steel industries.
