A young child was airlifted to a Pittsburgh pediatric intensive care facility Saturday afternoon after suffering a severe near-drowning incident at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort on Mill Run Road in Springfield Township, Fayette County.
SPRINGFIELD TWP., PA — Emergency medical responders and air transport crews were called to action in Springfield Township on Saturday afternoon after a young child suffered a severe near-drowning incident at a local recreational resort.
Fayette County 911 dispatchers received emergency calls around 1:30 PM requesting immediate medical assistance at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, located along Mill Run Road. First responders arriving on scene initiated immediate life-support protocols.
Due to the critical nature of the child's medical state, incident commanders requested a STAT MedEvac helicopter to respond directly to a designated landing zone nearby. The child was airlifted to a specialized pediatric intensive care facility in Pittsburgh for advanced medical intervention.
Local law enforcement and emergency management officials have not released the identity or current medical status of the victim.
